Problems with Android Pay (in UK with mastercard credit card)

First I know there is an issue with some Visa based cards loaded on an Android Pay when trying to use sone terminals in certain shop chains (as it is on the Android Pay website)

Second...  UK terminals are not the same as American shop ones in that we do not get the options to "select credit" that they get.

When the payment terminal requires a security double check  (the "pin") i cant get shop card terminal which have previously accepted "touch" payment to then accept payment.  (This is more than one terminal in more than one shop, in more than one chain of shops... ie it is many different shops where the till had worked and then wont)

the phone which was just unlocked then says on the screen "Unlock to use Android pay"  and "enter your device pin to continue"

yet...

-touching the z5 finger print scanner

-the phones pin in the phones screen

-the card pin in the phones screen

-putting the cards pin in the terminal

all result in "card type not supported" or words like that on the terminal screen and a failed purchase

has anyone else got android pay to work at the security double check stage or had the same problem (and solved it) ?

I've had a huge number of hardware and software problems with my Z5P and in the end after FOUR handset exchanges (I kid you not) my phone finally works with Android Pay with fingerprint unlock, the way that it should have worked from the very beginning.

A ticket I raised with Google back when the unlocking issue came about months and months ago was completely abandoned by Google despite initially being very helpful. This experience has really put me off Sony (I hold them responsible for this and pretty much everything else) and will never buy another Sony device.

My Xperia Z5 E6603 (United States) received the Nougat 7.0 update tonight. The first thing I did was open Android Pay, chose to add a credit card, and instead of receiving the usual message that I can't use it with an "unlocked bootloader or custom ROM," it worked. It's nice to have a fully-functional phone again!

So, after 6+ months of going back and forth with both Google and Sony, someone did the right thing with 32.3.A.0.376 and registered it as an OEM image.

This pretty much confirms for me what I suspected. 32.2.A.0.305 was borked. It was never flagged, submitted, signed, or whatever needed to be done to make Android Pay determine it was legitimate.

Now... I haven't actually tried to PAY with it via NFC yet. Tomorrow I'll try it.
