Z5C Whatsapp muted chats no notification light on Android 7.0

Anybody having this issue where the notification light does not flash anymore on chats where you have muted but still show notifications? Previous versions of android works just fine where the notification light will blink when screen is off on new messages from muted chats that still show notifications.

as this is a third party app, i suggest you contact the developer of the app to see if they still enabled this behaviour on nougat

You could also try removing the app and the reinstalling, it is possible that this could just be a small software glitch since the install of Android 7.0

If that fails, then following @nolramlb's instructions are your best bet.

This is the reply from Whatsapp below. Looks like the problem is with Sony's version of Android 7.0.. Please help to check internally on this.

It appears all your settings are correct for LED notifications. In our test devices, we reproduced the same LED behavior on multiple device which is expected when a group is muted. While we expect consistent LED behavior across all versions of WhatsApp, unfortunately the LED notification system is provided by the manufactures which can lead to unexpected behaviors. It appears that updating your device may have produced an unwanted behavior in your instance, however in our testing it appears to be working as expected.
