Hi!
I own an Xperia Z5 Premium and I live close to a border between two countries. In my flat, I have very poor coverage with my service provider but I don't want to activate roaming so that I do not incur the extra fees when people call me.
The problem is that the Z5 keeps prompting the message:
"Managed roaming (SUB1)
Network with limited service found.
Do you want to initiate a network search?"
If I click "Ok", it will do a network search, eventually find my home provider and prompt the same message again, short after.
If I click "Cancel", it will prompt the same message few seconds/minutes later.
It is very annoying as the message keeps showing up again and again. It will pause or quit the app I am using (eg a game, tacking a picture etc) and can show up several tens times a day. Is there a way to disable those notifications? Or to add a "Don't ask again" option?
Many thanks for your help,
G.M.

It looks like the last Android update (to Android 7.0) solves this problem.
I doubt that such option will be included since there might some fees by switching carriers from different countries, this is more o a poor network coverage that might have to be addressed by the carrier.
Hi, Thanks for your reply. It does not relly answer my question here: if I choose, on purpose, "Manual" network selection it is either that I don't want roaming to avoid calling fees and that I want to stay with my home carrier, even if it means no reception from time to time, or, that I chose a roaming provider in which case I agreed with the fees.
In anycase, I would like my phone to accept my choice and not to prompt a message every 15sec that quits my apps to ask me whether I want to do a network search. If I want to do one, I am a grown up and I can do it myself (which by the way, would be what I would expect "manual" to mean). If I want the phone to do it, I set the network selection as "automatic". I don't see the point of the "manual" option right now as it only makes my phone behave very anoyingly at a point where I can't use it anymore. Maybe it is a way, either for Sony or for Android to force people to use roaming and to spend more... ?
