Unable to unlock bootloader

Hi All.

Recieved a replacement Z1 via insurance. Can now not unlock bootloader.

Service menu tells me bootloader is unlockable.

Currently using Mac OSX to unlock (also tried windows 7, and Flashtool on both devices - same output)

Error is :

FAILED (remote: Command did not succeed)

finished. total time: 0.021s

Its not drivers, my Fastboot can see my device, I can control it via ADB / Fastboot with no issues.

Is there a known issue with this build and unlocking B/L?

C6903

Android 5.0.2

Build : 14.5.A.0.270

Cheers

Kev.

To unlock the Xperia™ Z1 boot loader, you must make sure your device is on software build 14.2.A.0.290 (Android 4.3) or later. Unlocking the boot loader on earlier software versions will stop the camera functionality.

Please note! It will only be possible to unlock the boot loader for certain releases. You can check if it is possible to unlock the boot loader of your device in the service menu by following the steps below:

  1. In your device, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
  2. Tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.

No, I didnt think so.

Any idea then why it wont work?

I have pretty much exhausted all resources my end.

Last time I did this it was so simple.

@KevAmiga

I'm not sure if it'll work on a Mac, perhaps @Johan could comment on this.

Tried it on a PC also

Its easier on a mac as you dont need the bridge drivers, with MacOSX being Unix derived.

ADB and Fastboot commands all work fine, except the unlock command.

I can reboot, switch modes, etc all via Fastboot and ADB.

Flashtool also.

Do you have USB debugging enabled and unknown sources ticked
