Camera pictures not saving

I took half a dozen or so pictures today when I was out and didn't look at them until later in the day when I returned home.

The camera was in Superior Auto+ mode for some and in manual for the others.  The camera was setup to save to memory card.  I've had no problems with photographs up to today.

I could not find the photographs I'd taken.    In the camera app instead of the pictures there were two black icons with a white jagged line across them.  I couldn't find anything with File Commander.  I tried taking some further test pictures and noticed that as it tried to save the pictures the orange spining circle thingy never went away.  I switched to  internal memory and there was no issue.

Any ideas? Corrupt memory card?  It's only 6 months old...

@MalcolmS, sounds like the SD card is the problem here. You might want to consider replacing it.

@MalcolmS

That seems to be a corrupted SD card, settings > apps > all > camera > clear data > restart the phone > try to take another picture, it will be saved in the internal storage, then change the settings again to the SD card > take few more pictures > report back

instructions followed...  First couple of pictures (to SD card) saved ok.  Third is still trying to save several minutes later...

Could you test your sd card on a computer?

Memory blocks have a maximum writings count. If you reach that limit, the card is gone.

Hi @MalcolmS, do they save correctly to the internal memory?

Concluded indeed that card is corrupt and it's now on its way back to Sandisk for replacement under warranty...
