Side Bar gone missing

Hello there

I've just bought a D2363 handset and have just been familierizing myself with it. Decided to upload a few apps, regular things like Spotify and the Guadian - nothing too weird. So far so good.

But then I realise that I've lost the sidebar on the home screen. Not only that, but my home screen seems to have been drastically rearranged. Finally, before I switched the phone off for bed, the google app kept on coming on when I was trying to do something else.

What has happened? I've tried a long press of the back page button - no result. Looking on the web, I can't find any other solutions.

Please help me get the side bar back. I appear to have no ability to access phone settings at the moment!

You still can access settings via menu-> settings. Check then which home screen (in menu home) is used "Simple" or "Xperia" (default)

Hi @Mungusus

Can you upload a screenshot of your phone homescreen to google drive/dropbox/etc and paste the link here so that we here can evaluate the situation?

Next try booting to safe mode

Press and hold your power button > Tap and hold POWER OFF >Tap OK to reboot to safe mode

See if theres any changes after that. To exit safe mode just restart your phone normally.

Ok guys, I think I've figured it out, but I feel a bit of a twit. I resorted to a factory reset, figuring that it was a low risk option with little data on the phone.

So what I realise now is that the side bar is only visable after pressing the apps button (that six point thing at the bottom of the screen) and that the side bar is only really an app control panel. I thought it might have been more functional, but only glanced at it before it 'dissappeared'. I don't know whether the side bar had really gone missing, although I thought I'd pressed the app button.
