Z5 Compact - distorted colors

Hello folks,

I have a Z5c since a couple of months back and it's been great in most respects, but I've never been happy with the camera. The main reason is how it seems to distort colors in semi-dark and dark conditions. Looking at the pictures I've linked to, this is what you'll will see:

In one of them there are two candles burning on a windowsill. The left one is actually orange and gives off a very nice and warm orange glow, while the right one is purple. Then there are two pictures of the same scene - one taken with my Z5c, one with an iPhone 6. The difference in color is remarkable with the iPhone 6 displaying the colors as they are while my phone applies a blue tint, just like with the orange candle kind of. I also noted that my camera puts a blue tint on dark surfaces while the iPhone does not. Finally, there's a picture of of a bed of charcoal and it speaks for itself, sadly. A friend of mine took a picture with his cheap Samsung and it showed perfect colors.

I have tried all settings there are on the phone to adjust the camera for darker conditions, to no avail. If anyone has any tips or ideas, I'd be very grateful. If you think I should return this unit because it's faulty, please say so too.

Best regards,

Johan

Turn off HDR, set metering to centre or multiple depending on situation.

I don't even think HDR was enabled, but I'll have a look. Thank you.
