251 touch screen problem

recently upgrade to 251.

but the touchscreen seem to have change the touch area.

if i scroll with my full finger, it won't register, nothing happen.

i have to minimize the finger contact area in order to scroll, touch icons, buttons, links...

before 251, scroll with my full finger is working.

Hi,

I do notice on the touch screen problem after upgrading to 251 firmware and I was told by my friend who works in the Sony Store that many customers complain same issue as well, it is due to the use of glass screen protector with the latest firmware.

Hope Sony fix the issue asap but I will not be removing my glass screen protector for now so just endure with the issue.

Funnily enough I do have a glass protector and I too have noticed the response issue.
It did seem fine before.

I am convinced that its nothing to do with the glass protector.  Although I have terribble problems using the keyboard (and logging in), the stylus recognition in MojiNote has improved!

Wouldn't it be nice if Sony just said "we recognize the problem and are working on it!".

I have tried with a Tempered Glass protection but things are worse with such a screen protector !

I have called the Xperia Support line, and you will not imagine what they replied me :

1st answer :

I should use the 'glove function' from the tablet.

Unfortunately I could not find this option because it's an option only in the Z3 tablet and not the Z4.

2nd answer (after my 2nd call) :

"If it is working without the screen protector then remove it"

I have argued this was not a solution, that I was using the official sony PRT13 screen protector and because it was an official accessory, they should support it, then they replied they have no other solution for me !

I will not use the tablet without a screen protection because it is not a gorilla glass screen, I don't know how over time it would face scratches, etc...

This is is the last time I buy a sony tablet.

Thanks for the news. I also use Sony PTR and have the same issue. I thougt it is a hardware problem but it is not when I saw the other people problem.

Btw, I don't think this is related strictly to firmware .251.

On the 2nd Z4 tablet I was lastly provided with, I have not yet done the upgrade to .251, and already having these touch screen issues with the screen protector !

So one question is : should I upgrade to .251 as other user seem to 'start' experencing issues since .251 and not before, I am afraid things could get worse, but maybe I am wrong ?

Any idea if a .253 will be released soon ? Will it include touchscreen updates ?

SirRobin, you are right, and good news in some feedback here saying touch response is now 'awesome' even with tempered glass protection : http://forum.xda-developers.com/z4-tablet/general/firmware-28-0-8-260-rolling-t3250092#post63865965

But can I skip 251 and upgrade directly to 260 through the Z4 OTA (Over The Air) directly without PCCompanion or and firmware flashing tool ?
