The videos I have taken on my camera are AVI format and will not play on Sony Tablet as AVI does not seem to be recognised.  Is there anything I can do please to convert to MPEG4, WMV etc?  Thanks

Download an App that does support AVI. I use MoboPlayer, but you will find others on Play Store.

HI Twotykes,

As Rich says there are many apps that will allow you to play AVI files - another you may want to try is MX Player - it's my preference but have a look and see what you like.
