Hi gejacks25,
The link on my earlier post should work (http://support.sony-europe.com/eve/compatibility/usb.aspx?site=odw_en_GB&m=CDX-GT540UI&acc=USBmemory), but if not click on the 'compatibility' tab below the picture of the car radio and select 'USB' in the little drop-down selection on the next page.
Hope this helps you find the chart.
Hi Dinglebay152,
welcome to Questions & Answers..:smileyhappy:
Could you post which USB device & which Car stereo you are trying to connect, this information may help someone from community assist you in solving your problem..:smileywink:
My car stereo is as follows: Sony FM/MW/LW/ Compact Disc Player with USB Port. serial no: CDX-GT540UI
I am trying to use a 16 GB. USB Stick with the name ( busbi tm ) on it.
Hi Dinglebay152,
Difficult to be sure what the issue is here - it could be that this particular USB stick is not compatible. There's a compatibility chart on Sony's website, and yours isn't listed as far as I can see (although the list I am sure is by no means exclusive) ...although there aren't that many 16Gb sticks listed, so I suspect that this could be the problem.

Don't know if this helps?
Is there a link to the USB stick compatibility chart, I can't find it. A memory stick doesn't work reliably with my Sony car audio system - it plays for a bit and then gives an "invalid file" error message. I don't know the model number as it is built into my Ford Mondeo and there is no model number visible - and I don't want to (and don't know how to) take it apart as I've just bought the car. The audio manual just refers to it as a Sony CD DAB. The Sony site support seems to require knowledge of the model number unfortunately.

Thanks for the advice, I've found the chart and it gives me plenty of USB devices to choose from.
