Hello there .. I am trying to pair my new Sony Walkman NW-A55L to my new Pure CF-6 via Bluetooth without success. I have also tried to pair it with my Roberts Blutune to no avail.
I have followed all the instruction manuals but am still at a loss.
Does anyone have any suggestions, preferably clean
Virgil.

I finally managed to connect it Nic ... Tools - Settings -Connect to/Add Audio Device - Wireless Playback Quality
Then 'tap' aptX.
Hello @virgil7,
are the devices you try to connect your Walkman to in pairing mode?
They need to be, otherwise they are not discoverable by the walkman.
- Nic
Hello Nic, yes they are both in pairing mode with the Bluetooth icon showing.
There's obviously an easy answer to this but if I don't know then it is quite baffling.
Hello @virgil7,
how far do you get when pairing? Does the player simply not discover the CF-6?
- Nic
Affirmative Nic - the player does not discover my Pure Evoke CF-6 or even my Roberts Blutune 100.
Hello @virgil7,
then maybe the radio you have doesn't support the right bluetooth protocol.
Can you pair other radios/headphones?
I can pair all my speakers+headphones I have at home with my NW-A45, I doubt the protocol is much different to the ones on the NW-A55.
I unfortunately can't get my hands on a 55, otherwise I would check.

Hello there Nic, yeah, I was thinking along the same lines .. I've tried just about everything, read all the instruction manuals, including on-line, watched a few videos etc. etc.
I can't pair the Walkman with my Roberts Blutune 100 either, so it looks like the Walkman is going back to Amazon.
Thanks for your efforts my friend.

Have you considered to get the NW-A45 instead?
- Nic
I'll make a decision over the weekend, nic. I'm also checking out the Fiio M9 and the Cowon Plenue D2.
Hello nic .. I purchased a FiiO M9 in the end, and it connected to my Pure Evoke CF-6 music system straight away.
So you were correct in thinking maybe the Walkman and the Pure Evoke used different protocols.
The Walkman NW-A55L uses Bluetooth 5.0 whereas the FiiO M9 uses Bluetooth 4.2
