My PC companion can't access phone memory, I can't transfer music to my Xperia P

I've made sure that the sim is indeed inserted and that my phone is completely unlocked. Nothing I've tried seems to work so far. What could be the problem and is it a bug with the upgrade to Ice cream sandwitch? How can I resolve this issue? Please help me.
