Hi!
I didn't know/and tried looking for a discussion on this so, I hope you don't mind me making another entry if it's already been asked....
with my new Xperia ST26i I received besides the proper SIM card an rectangular white card which has an arrow on one side (this card is just a little bigger than a SIM card) and small blue plastic transparent card with a peel-off strip on it - can anyone tell me what these are and are for as Orange with whom I have the contract have no idea. The white card doesn't fit into any slots inside or outside the phone but the blue one did fit into the SIM slot - silly me thought it was a new type of SIM....I thought I'd wrecked the phone when I couldn't get the thing out!
Also, I keep changing shut down of phone to one minute but it reverts to 30 secs which is quite annoying - any tips on that would be great - thanks:smileyhappy:

Solved! Go to Solution.
The plastic card is for applying a screen protector which you may also have received, You peel off one side of the protector and place carefully on your screen then use the white plastic card to smooth out the air bubbles.
Thommo - thank you so much for explaining these mysterious objects - guess they won't work now as I stupidly put the transparent blue thingy in as the SIM. I am surprised the phone still works ☺
Now, I have a problem in that when I press on an icon nothing happens except a bin rises at the bottom of the screen - and, I was doing so well ☺

What you are doing is the way you move app shortcuts around. To open a app, simply tap the icon. Don't press on it for to long. A simple and fast tap would be plenty.
Hope you survive the transition to touch screen!
Thanks for your speedy reply. That's what I have been doing but as of yesterday evening it has stopped working.
Just before I sent this reply I had another go and Sod's Law - it is working again
Thanks again.
This has been a very helpful Forum so far.
I am sure I will have more questions as time goes on but will keep them to minimum
Cheers!

You may want to run a repair using PC Companion bear in mine by doing this you will loose data like your contacts list unless they are stored on your sim card or a Google docs account
