it's a low end phone, so it lags a little, you might want to consider the Xperia J which will get Jelly Bean next year.

which is better xperia sola or J?

J is going to get jelly bean but sola has dual core

indeed it's only a single core phone, but will get Jelly Bean, now, if I were you, I wouldn't get neither the J or Sola, I would save a bit more and get the V or T or Nexus 4

check the Nexus S, it's cheaper than the Xperia S
