Bought Xperia Acro S today. It was a very good phone, well satisfied with it. Not until I installed Quickpic (3rd party picture viewer). And to my surprise, the pics from the Album app and Quickpic are exactly the same in terms of color saturation, noise and contrast! WHY is that SONY?
I have had Xperia ARC and RAY for a year or so, then sold the ARC because of the "CRACK" near the sensor. Got Samsung GSII with a horrible screen which I dont wanna look at, then sold it after 3 days and made me go back to SONY. But til this time after reading several comments, a lot of people noticed that the mBE is not working and Sony is not giving any CLEAR answer or solution for the issue.
I had about 20 SE phones and this is the first real Sony phone I have, please don't disappoint me. Any moderator or Sony Exec, please give me a reasonable answer for this query.
Solved! Go to Solution.
WTF are you talking about? Don't hijack this thread.
I feel like the camera only got 6 or 8 megapixels.... Xperia S camera sometime fail in capturing low light areas, and night areas.... The camera took better in day light......
So 36 days have passed since this thread was opened; and around 20 days since a Sony support member commented here.
So that's it then? Is it really true that given over a month, the developers at Sony could not even come up with an answer (let alone a fix)?
Sony might as well shut down these forums if they don't feel like showing some responsibility and owning them..
Whilst it's true that these forums are dead and pretty much defunct [you'd get better support calling the receptionist at Sony HQ], I'm sure the developers are working on fixes, most likely they will all come with the OS update.
This has now been checked and when the boot loader is unlocked we can unfortunately not guarantee that specific features works the same as before unlocking.
For more information in terms of warranty and responsibility I refer you to our developer site.
Really it´s very very bad!!! So, there are many Xperia Fans that lost Bravia because unlock the bootloader. It´s not fair. I thought that Sony would solve the problem.....
Disappointed............
Hey I haven't unlocked my bootloader, BE isn't working, and I don't seem to be the only one in that case !!
Wow, this answer comes as a really big disapointment
As Sunspot says, you can't let the end user diagnose the faults in your system!
Sunspot has a totally stock phone, and the engine isn't functioning, didn't you see their post in this thread?
I've seen multiple posts from Sony Support that totally contradict another users statement posted prior to Sony Supports.. Are they "reading" these threads:?!
Lol, in other words Sony developers can't figure out the problem so they blame the users for having unlocked the bootloader!
The point is, this thing is not even bootloader related; there are people for whom Bravia Engine never worked even without unlocking the bootloader. In addition there are people with unlocked bootloader for whom it works.
THE TRUTH IS THAT SONY DOES NOT EVEN KNOW WHY THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED, THEY CANT FIGURE IT OUT. So unlocking bootloader did it right? Can the developers explain why it happened on unlock? Can they explain why many users who didnt unlock still faced the problem?
I own a technology blog and I do think there is a need to post on issues like this; I will also post this stuff on other blogs.
I've always been a Sony & SE fan. I guess I was wrong to have put my faith in Sony, as were thousands of other users. What a shame!
