Messaging icon shows 1 unread message but there isn't any

Whenever new texts come, the status bar on the mini pro notifies of the same. That is working fine.

But the messaging icon has a orange number 1 on it. I think that means 1 new message or 1 unread message or something. But it has been there since yesterday. I have already cleared all messages. deleted all. But the bright orange '1' is still there on my messaging icon.

Any one else having the same problem? And what should solve this?

open your messaging app -> menu -> notification must be selected

If yuo mean to turn off notifications in status bar.. from message.. menu.. settings.. Nope! Doesn't help. |~<</p>

oh ok I had a similar issue two days ago, I thought you were asking how come you had a sms but not on the notification bar

turn off your phone -> take the battery out -> w/ the battery out press and hold the power button for few seconds -> put the battery back on and turn on your phone

Some users have been using this workaround.  Send a message to yourself. Open it Close your own SMS and the unread message icon is gone.

but if i get a new message it remains there evn if i have read that..:smileyangry::smileyplain:

i tried that sending message to own celll...but it worls only once..

ie.if new msg comes it remains there even after reading the msg..
