Can I root my Xperia T?

I am willing to root my Xperia T just to get a full large screen. I mean to get rid of Status bar at the top and bottom bar which is really occupied our valuable screen space.

CAN ANY EXPERT TRULY SUGGEST ME SHOULD I DO THE ROOT OR NOT??

It's JB. I read somewhere that if we root we can hide the bottom bar whenever not in need.

oh ok, it doesn't seem that complicated, you will use 2 apps, 1) a new home launcher and then 2) a full screen app

I heard that in Xperia Z's recant update the background color of navigation keys at bottom and background color of status bar at the top changed to black color from grey. That means u have the ability o change the background color. If u give an option to change color to transparent color or grey something like that we will get a full screen
