Video problems

I have a problem in playing video on my xperia m4 aqua, not only in album but also on youtube (app) or dailymotion (in chrome). How can i resolve it?
If i make a video with my camera it looks black with audio,, and older videos i had on my sd are played slowly and with lag

I suggest that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion..

Before repairing your device you may want to backup your information first. Check out this topic for more information on how to.

If the issue should still remain I think that this needs to be examined and fixed at a repair center. For more information about how to submit your phone for repair and where, contact your local support team.

Yes. Use PC Companion to repair the phone software (Support zone > Update phone software > Repair phone software)

Bought this phone July 25. Encountered black screen of death August 5 and could not restart or hard reset. Just waited for the battery to be drained, charge it and it works fine again. Just notice these past few days, after I play simple games like candy crush or after I connected with a wifi and browse the internet - video playback is not working well. It lagged or sometimes hanged. Enable to solve this issue, I need to restart my phone but I don't want to do it evrytime I encounter this problem. Just yesterday, anothing problem appeared, I tried to record a video and when I try to play it, all I see is black screen with a warning saying "FILE FORMAT NOT RECOGNIZE" but when I checked the details its mp4.

AVG antivirus and Clean master are installed plus a few games.

Help please!

A few things to try before jumping to resetting/formatting your phone:

1) Remove clean master and AVG, both will may produce lagging and can cause some apps to malfunction.

2) Check you SC card on your PC, it might be corrupted and needs formatting. Or better try a different SD card.

3) If these options won't help, you may have to perform a phone repair prcess via PC Companion, you'll need to back up your data before proceeding because it will wipe your internal memory.

I can't stream any videos with the M4 Aqua. YouTube doesn't work, videos on Facebook don't work. There is no sound and no picture just black.

Hi DLPike, welcome to the community!

Are you viewing the videos through Youtube/Facebook on your browser or through the Youtube app/Facebook app? 

Try the following steps, after trying each method verify whether that worked or not.

• Restart the device
• If you are using mobile data try playing the video over Wi-Fi or if you already are using Wi-Fi, try a different connection to see if it amkes a difference. Make sure you have enough mobile data if you want to use that.
• If you are using the apps rather than the browser, clear the cache for both apps by going into Settings > Apps > All > find the app & tap on it > tap Clear cache. You can also clear the data if clearing the cache doesn't work - just note that will reset the app. 
• Check the Play Store to see if either of those apps need to be updated, if so then update them.
• Check whether the phone requires a system update under Settings > About phone > Software update > System.

Thanks for the suggestions. Videos wouldn't play through the Facebook or YouTube Apps. They also wouldn't play through the Chrome browser.

I had just updated Facebook and my phoneyesterday afternoon, but didn't restart after updating. Restarted my phone first thing this morning and the issue seems resolved! Thanks so much!
