After assigning any function to AEL button by Operation Customize> Custom key /Dial setting, when I press AEL button, the display returns to menu Operation Customize> Custom key /Dial setting and the function selected is not performed. Any suggestion?

Thank you for the reply. I uploaded two photos of menu. In the first one I tried to assign to AEL button AEL hold . When I press AEL button  the result is what you can see in the second photo. The menu returns to custom Key/dial set. The same occurs with any function I assign to AEL button function. 

I own an alpha 1 where I assigned to AEL button a specific function (recall custom hold 1) and everything works perfectly.

Hey Pepsus, maybe the camera is glitching, try removing the batteries and test, then try reset and test again. Let me know if that works.
