Sony Cashback

I submitted my cashback claim at the beginning of Feb with the sales receipt and a photo of the serial number as required.

I received an email back on 2 Feb confirming the receipt of the cashback application.

I have checked numerous times and each time the status shows they are awaiting validation and yet again in the last few days so I submitted a customer service request for an update, response from Sony:

With reference to your cashback participation for the Sony SEL55F18Z Lens, we would like to confirm that the cashback for your claim is being validated by our cashback team regarding the reference number of xxxxxxxxxxxx and claim ID of xxxxxx.

Please click the below link to check your claim status:

https://www.sony.co.uk/promo/cashback/status

Unfortunately, there is no specific time frame on when the claim will be validated, however, once validated, you may allow up to 28 days after the validation and your cashback will be transferred to your bank account from Link Network or World Pay, as you will be confirmed by email if accepted or if any other information is required.

29 days to validate the application seems crazy when evidence of a purchase from a Sony approved dealer is submitted and now to be told it could take a further 28 days following validation is ridiculous and unfair to customers - why can't they be like Nikon(and I suspect others) who respond in a far more timely manner.

As good as Sony products are, their customer service related to cashback handling is abysmal.

Very poor show Sony!

[Case 18195718] Cashback registration confirmation

I got an email that says:

Thanks for taking advantage of our cashback offer.

Your cashback will be transferred to your account within 28 days from the date we validate your claim. We will send you two confirmation emails when the transfer has been made and completed.

Your 8-digit registration code is displayed in the subject line of this email. Please quote this code if you need to contact us about your claim.

To stay updated, please click on the “See the status of your claim” link below the “Claim” button on the Cashback offer homepage. ClaimID:216643”.

However, the link just takes me to a web page that says

“Please note this campaign is now over”

not helpful!

I know it is frustating.

Toy need to click on the blue hyperlink on the email and on the page that says the campaign is now over go to the small menu at the bottom of the page and under the "News & Info" section click on the "Offers and promotions, this will take you to a page that shows the claim up to £200 - click on blue find out more section this will take you to the next page and under the blue "claim cashback" there is smaller text that says "see the status of your claim", click on this and it will ask for info on the product and the claim reference from the Sony email.

A little long winded but it will give you the status.

Good luck and keep the faith, they are sloooooooooooooooooooow at validating claims but get there in the end!

Thanks again Win_88 for all your support and please pass on my thanks to your contact as I am sure he had some influence.

Just a shame Sony who produce such fantatstic products drag their heels when it comes to offers they make to those buying them.

WOW ... Thanks Ian.

Not sure I would have found it without you.

They need a new web designer too.

Way too much security to log on wanting a Captcha image verification after both user name AND password entry.

Thank goodness Sony make better cameras than web sites!

Cheers

Hi John,

As Ian said, it may take some time but you'll get the cashback in the end. I think the delay is related to how much time they put into each claim to make sure everyone gets handled properly.

@Ian

I'll pass your thanks. I'm really happy we could help.

Cheers,
