Sony A 5100 / ILCE - 5100L

Help my Sony A 5100 / ILCE-5100L is less than 6 months old and has not had a lot of use,  it has a standard lens fitted and I have not removed the lens since I purchased the camera, the problem I am having is that the lens will not always retract when I want to change from max zoom to W/A. To get the lens to retract I have to turn the camera off. even doing this the lens is sometimes slow to retract. Why am I having this problem on a camera that is less than 6 months old with hardly any use, I would appreciate any help that can be given, Thank you.

Hello @Moortosea,

since the lenses contacts are only "pressed" against the camera body by the pressure created when screwing the lens on, it could be, that the contacts got corroded due to humidity in the air.

I would try to unscrew the lens in a mostly dust-free environment and have a look at the contacts to see if you could clean them.
