Z5 Premium Dual Half Of The Screen Is Black

Hi everyone, i have problem with Z5 Premium Dual, the phone was working perfectly on the latest update 7.1.1, until one day left half of the screen went black by itself (touch still works on that side). So i ordered new LCD, because i assumed it is a display problem, but when i tried new one it has the same problem. Phone itself is working normal, and when i take a screenshot and transfer pic to PC, the picture is normal (showing whole screen, like it working). Does anyone here know how i can fix this? Phone has no warranty. Thanks

@Gocko

You could try a different ribbon/cable

@uliwooly

If you think ribbon/cable which connects mainboard with bottom board like on Z1, Z2...on Z5 that cable is just for buttons , speaker and vibration, which works fine, the screen is connected directly to mainboard. Here are some pictures.

Dears,

Did you find any solution? I've got the same problem, however right half of my screen has turned into black!

@Gocko, @ArminBell;

Have you tried software repair with Xperia Companion to discard software issues?

Not yet, I was afraid of losing my data. Did it work for you?

First, this is not a software issue (at least for my phone) otherwise i wouldn't bother to open it.

Second, as i can see this forum are ment to help people who dont know how to turn the phone on, or set a fingetprint lock(some basic stuff).

Third, i found solution, but it needs to be done by a professional...some capacitors next to display connector have been fried, dont know why...but i replaced it and the phone works without any problems.
Capacitors needs to be measured with multimeter, to find whitch ones to change.

And if you worry about data, just do a backup when you connect your phone to PC

Sorry if its any errors in my writing

Thanks @Gocko

As you said repairing with Xperia Companion didn't work and I should ask an expert to replace failed capacitors.
