Z3 compact: Screen broken, touch does not work, need reset

Hey guys,

my phone is totally cracked and the screen doesn't work anymore. That's bad, because I can not unlock it, check IMEI numbers or anything. I need a reset on this phone so I can sell it or send it to repair.

1) I tried Emma ("phone is locked")

2) tried Emma while pressing "Volume up". LED turns blue and nothing else happens, Emma says I have to plug in the USB cable but it already is

3) PC companion tells me to unlock my phone but I can't

4) that tiny little yellow reset button does not do anything

Thanks for your help! I'm googling and downloading for hours now but nothing works for me.

Does the device turn on? Can you see anything on the screen? In this case, a USB OTG cable is your answer. You can connect a mouse or a keyboard if needed.

Aaand a new cable for my cable collection...

There isn't another workaround as far as I know. You can only reset the device if the screen is locked.

Well, I tried using Xperia Companion. Turns out that "Repair Software" did a reset. (it took 30 min). When my cable arrives I can tell if it worked.

@ismirschlecht I thought you also wanted to save some data. That's why I suggested OTG. The repair has succeeded and only the microSD wasn't erased.
