I am glad that you are contacting Sony directly - I would hope tha they monitor these forums

It is odd, as there are quite a few reports about them bringing Stamina back with teh latest release, but I only upgraded yesterday and it is not there - I have checked if there are any other updates available and none yet.

I would be happier if I knew that there was a problem but it will be addressed in our next patch in 5?  days time

Is there anyone that "upgraded" to the 6.0.1 and their phone still works: "as it should"?

I didn't think so...

This is so sad: I used to have a very useful "smartphone" but, now my phone will only work in "safemode" which basically makes it a "dumb" phone, might as well be a "flip phone" from the mid-90's.  None of my apps work, I used to use it as my alarm clock but, now I'm using an older HTC as my alarm clock. I'm afraid to leave it plugged in and charging because it gets so hot that it might start a fire while I'm sleeping and burn my whole house down, possibly killing myself and my children.

If I charge the phone fully and pull it from the charger it literally "uses" 10% per hour of battery (and the phone is way too "hot to the touch" to even hold), at 10% per hour it will run out of power after only 10 hours. And, that's if it doesn't catch fire first!

I'd bet that Sony would pay more attention if I were hospitalize w/ 2nd or 3rd degree burns. Sad (again) that may be what it takes for them to pay attention though!?!

Can you imagine the attention (and bad "press") they would get if my phone did actually catch fire and cause: bodly harm to me, my house, my children?

I've tried stopping every running app and just letting the phone run but, no matter what I do, my phone runs (in "standby") at near 100% usage. And, as I have stated; It's so hot that I could start a fire w/ it!

Sony really should recall this device before someone gets injured: I want to put this out there so there is documentation of the issuse and Sony "willing ignored it"; and let people "willfully" injure themselves by continuing to use their "well documented" defective devices !

I don't think that Sony cares about this really.. They just want everyone to to buy their new stuff instead.

I wonder, is there a way to revert to a previous Android version?

Post marshmallow update my Z3 xperia is draining super fast. Why would an update be relased without proper testing. Could sony resolve this asap.

I have managed to scrape a few % at the end of the day by turning off my live wallpaper.. but Im in Bear Gryhls survival mode now, trying to nurse a crippled phone through 24 hrs, in the untamed hinterlands of occasional internet surfing and bluetooth music

From my understanding of the 6.0.1 update there is no way to revert to the previous Any operating system on your Z3. Supposedly there are "security" updates that can't be "un-done".

The best you can do (for the time being) is to boot your phone in "Safe mode" (so that the battery will last and it doesn't catch fire):

1. Power down the phone.

2 Power on the phone: Holding the power button and the speaker "down" button at the same time.

3. When you see the phone starting to boot: release the "power" button, continue holding the speaker volume "down" button until you get a "full boot".

Your phone should now be in "Safe mode": calls and text will still work but, not much else.

Clearly Sony have not done if any testing and research into how their phones will handle the Marshmallow Android Update and that is why everyone is experiencing issues with multiple things after the Marshmallow Update. I had to help my friend sort out a few issues with his Z3 yesterday after he has upgraded and things are still not right.

I know from reading a few forum posts here that these forums are also looked at and responses given by Official Sony staff.

Can we please have an official response from Sony with regards to what they are going to do about this ? Don't Sony care about their mobile division, or are they happy for it to go also.

My phone decided to just kill itself earlier today, i just posted a photo on snapchat and the battery went from 27% down to 0 in a minute. Hope this is just a one time problem.
