@Christofer Thanks

@forefather1977
This is exactly what I am talking about, l figured out how to copy from the USB to the phone by pressing the 3 dots (options) and select (copy to) then choose the directory, But still can't do the opposite ( from phone to USB)

I got round this problem by downloading a new file manager app - ES file explorer pro. Managed to copy and move files with this.

I just got some information about this.

After updating your Xperia device to Android 6.0, a third-party file manager app might not find the USB device when connected to the device. The USB device is however visible in Settings and it's possible to explore it using the native file explorer in Android 6.0.

This is due to the fact that we follow the implementation of Android 6.0 portable storage. Third-party apps must go through the Storage Access Framework to interact with files on the portable storage. Direct access to the portable storage is blocked for privacy and security reasons.

You're welcome, glad I could provide an explanation on why it isn't working with some file managers yet. Slightly_smiling_Face
