When ever I am trying to turn on the hotspot it pop up error window

I found solution.

That error windows pops up because there is no internet service available, though the sim card has proper signal strength and mobile data on but if the internet service is not enable then this error is showing while enabling the hotspot. So there is no issue with phone.

Since installing lollipop I am not able to use the tethering function and have tried this on two separate Sony z ultra... Please help

After the phone upgrade to Lollipop, it can still share the hotspot and computer can connect to the shared wifi.

But the computer is not able to access internet!

Have you downloaded your internet settings under Settings > More? If not please try this, if this does not help and you are sure you have mobile data turned on the Xperia, then I advise contacting your network provider and/or Sony Xperia Customer Care in your region.
