Hello users,I bought this phone a week ago , though it's water proof i did not wish to test if before
but today when a my phone came in contact with water , the speaker of phone went silent for a moment then i restared phone and speaker's voice came back with low sound,so low you can barely hear it
Any solution ?

Whilst the phone does have a high Ip rating, not all features/functions are going to work whilst the phone is wet/submerged. The speaker will drop in volume whilst there is water in the speaker cavity and there is no way around this other than to have the speaker on the surface of the body of the device which would leave it quite susceptible to damage.

The speakers need to dry out. Please read the manual, it says that after coming in contact with water the speaker is likely going to need time to dry out, this can take from several hours to days depending on the conditions. There is nothing wrong with your phone, its not broken from what you've said, simply it just needs time to dry out. Refrain from using the speakers also, this will inhibit the drying process otherwise.

Hi, guys!
If the sound is very quiet even after a long time, then you should dip your phone’s speaker part into the alcohol (medical)! Also you can use syringe without niddle to make pressure. It is because of condensate, which damaged the waterproof material of external speaker, so the sound doesnt have output!
I think it will help you!
Cya!
Hey, its the same problem for me.
I spilled coffee on my phone this morning. Reading all the solutions here, I had let my phone to dry out. And its been more than 6 hrs but nothing has changed.
The audio volume (while I am on a call) has reduced also the speaker volume has gone down like bad.
+I hear tampered voice during the call.
Any solution?

The same thing happened to mine after trying to wash it with water, exactly as shown in the advertisment after I made sure it was correctly sealed all over.
Xperia Z is supposed to be waterproof up to 1m under water and 30 minutes,
My speakers do at most one third of their capacity since I just rinced it and I can hardly hear my calls.
Shame!
Somebody should sue Sony for this!
