the other alternative is to repair it yourself, doing so will be a lot cheaper but it will void your warranty
check ebay for the LCD

Yes , sony want 240$ to fix the phone, there are lcd panels for the sony xperia z for 138$ but then again i don't know how to disassemble and re-assemble the xperia...i have changed allot of iphone casings and panels but this is completely different.
i have no idea on what to do because if i did me doing it would be the first option and it would of been done along time ago :L
taking it apart is easy enough - getting it all sealed up is the hard part - it's a job I would do but would be very nervous about going near water after but not really a problem as how often (apart from the clownns here that wash their phones with the dishes) would your phone be submerged in water
no even when the phone was brand new i was scared to even have water next to it even though its water proof.. i just dont know how to re assemble it
yeah i saw the dissasembly guide but how to re-assemble.. ?
wouldn't just follow the same steps but backwards?
yeah but then how are you supposed to put the back cover back on??
if you heat the back off with a heatgun then how are you supposed to stick it back on without falling off?
