Hi all, I have problems with the available storage space on my Xperia Z Ultra, when I install updates to my apps then it sais too little space on the storage for updates.
The total intenal storage is 11.79GB
Used for apps 6.32GB
Used for other things is 545,99MB
soo in total I use 6.87GB
But total available storage space is only 705MB
On the graphic display I use about 60% of the memory ...
Why do I have only 705MB free storage space? What can I do about it?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Factory reset was the solution. And my sdcard had track 0 error and needed to be replaced, not related to the internal memory problem but to mention anyway.
To bad I lost a bunch of stuff since the backup did not work to the sdcard neither to external usb device... But it went rather smooth to factory reset anyway...
Have you checked cache too? Try to clear that up under settings-storage.
Yes cache is included in the other amount (only 98,32MB)
Do you have a microSD in your device? Also, can you post a screenshot from settings-apps?
This is how it looks after freeing the 99MB cache... I have 64GB extra sd-card at the bottom...
As far as I know, the rest is used by the Android system.
You had me fooled for a while...
the phone's got 16GB internal memory and after the system has taken its share there is 11.79 available to me, thats the way it works, and if I would spend 6 GB of that I should have more than 5GB free to use not only 1 GB...
My dad has the same phone as me and this clearly prooves this, this is how it looks on his phone:
I'm thinking about making an factory reset, but I want to make an backup fist... And when I try to do that I select 1.72Gb to backup to my external Sd card where more than 32GB is free and available - then my phone sais it is too little space on the external SD card and I should free more space there...
My phone is totally wacked out of shape, and I will try to manually make a backup (write down all apps I have on computer and copy the documents by hand and loose all phonecontact all almanac info and everything to make the factory reset!!
It's sick!
Yes,it seems like the second picture shows there should be more free space. But, you have more apps than he does, which can store their data too.
There is also a difference between the space occupied by default by apps (preinstalled) and what Android system takes, as Android advances, it takes more and more.
