Terrible idea, same goes if you use ice, a freezer, etc, think about it, its glass, what happen to glass when you heat it up and cool it down fast?

If you're experiencing issues with your phone getting hot there may be a deeper problem though.

Are there any specific apps that cause the phone to heat up or is it just always hot?

It is common for mobiles to get hot during extensive usage. Never worry about that.

@AbdelrahmanHamoda Under extended usage like voice call, web browsing, gaming, camera recording, video playing, etc, it is normal that the processor will generate heat.
