When you went to install the driver, I assume you pressed the manual option and then navigated to where the newly downloaded driver was located

hey jake, sorry for the delay , yes i did, several times. tried auto install also after manual didn't work.

any way, i have updated to Windows 10 several day ago  and since than the phone interacts prefect with my PC,

don't know why or how, probably somthing wrong with my Win7 installation.

just wanted to tell you about the solution if any one else got those problems, and nothing else works.

Sounds like the previous OS wasn't allowing drivers to be installed, and by updating the OS you cleared the issue with the driver installation.

Regardless, I am happy you resolved the problem Slightly_smiling_Face

Dear Xperia Support Concerns. I have Xperia Z5 Premium E6833 and Windows 10-64 bit. I can't connect my xperia with the pc. I have tried all the methods mentioned above. kindly help me out

I have a z5 premium with the same problem, have tried everything and still won't connect to my pc. My only work around is to use file commander app and transfer over WiFi. It recognises the phone in device manager yet won't install drivers.

ok i solved it, what i did was uninstall pc companion, then go to device manager and uninstalled the mtp driver. i then installed xperia companion(not pc companion) then :

(1) Go to C:\Windows\INF

(2) Type "wpdmtp.inf" in search bar provided to the right of the address bar in Windows 10.

(3) Once you found it, just right click on it and select install. It will take a very few seconds.

(4) Connect your device to the pc.

i kept getting the INF error when trying to install the drivers for MTP in device manager this solved it.
