Hi,
My camera isn't working anymore. When i open the camera, the screen stays black. The front camera is working. And if i use the diagnostic center, the app crashes. Does someone have this problem? Thank you

Same happened to my Xperia Z3 compact. I have been waiting for Sony to come up with an official solution due to the amount of phones affected and I have been trying every solution except sending it to repair but it seems nothing will solve it or the repair would be as expensive as a new phone.

I really liked this phone, it was even available in this turquoise color that I really like but without the rear camera is pretty useless.

I can't believe I paid so much just to have an issue like this and I can't even sell it now to purchase a new one (only as paperweight).

How do I restore the camera screen on my z3 compact?. It has become black and unresponsive.

I had a similiar problem with my xperia z2. I dropped it from about 20-30 cm and then every time I wanted to access the camera app (or any other similar app), the back camera would start overheating and showing a black screen.

I tried everything, from clearing cache, getting out the memory card, restarting, force reset and the thing wouldn't want to work. Lucky for me I have two sony xperia z2 phones.

So, one day I was thinking to get it apart and see what the problem is.

In my case it was the actual camera module, that was faulty.

And then I swapped it with the other phone's camera module and, yes, that was the problem.

It's not the same for everyone. But, perhaps this will help someone.

Did the clear cache thing...did not worked tsk

Tried doing the software repair step but it takes too long to finish. Last night I did it for 6 hours and still not yet finished so I have to cancel it. Is this normal?

When I power on my phone this morning, all my data are gone sooo I was wondering if the software repair did really finished?

I have same issue on my z3c, I try Companion, Flashtool, hard reset, vol up down + power, app chache delete, updates.. I even try "putting pressure on corners".. Non of these works for me.

Only thing I didnt is new camera and those things on board...
