Over the last two weeks, when I make a call the screen goes black as soon as I press the call button. I can't use the keypad, loudspeaker or end a call.
I have tried all the troubleshooting advice, I have called Sony, but can't press any of the options. The chat and email functions don't work on the Sony website. I don't have another phone I can call from. Does anyone have any clue as to what step I should take next? Thanks
I have this problem too.
I'm sorry to hear that, lets try few things, is there anything blocking or partially blocking the proximity sensor? perhaps a protective film, glass, case?
Also, go to settings > about phone > diagnostics > test > test proximity sensor
one last thing, test the phone in >>> safe mode
Thanks
I know my proximity sensor is faulty, the diagnostic tests on the phone are great.
I have tried all the troubleshooting from forums and the ones you suggested, but with no luck.
They have suggested backing up my device using the Xperia companion that you can download and then performing a software update.
I can't do this because Xperia Companion won't work as my laptop is too old.
I'm hoping to find away around this, but maybe it will work for others.
It think that I'm just going to send it off for repair
