Battery drains 80% in 2 hours

I bought sony xperia z3+ a year ago with marshmallow update from germany. It drains from 100% to 20% in 2 hours although i wasn't playing a game or watching video or listening to music. It overheats quickly. It charges i more than 5 hours. Bluetooth doesn't work. Will you fix it?

@Abody That is a big difference in power usage indeed so I think we can safely say that the drain is caused by one of your downloaded apps. I'm afraid it's hard to know which one, especially since it won't reveal itself in the battery usage stats. But if you began to experience the battery drain after downloading or updating a specific app I'd recommend that you start with uninstalling that one and then take it from there.

When it comes to the battery usage stats these are, as far as I know, an estimation made by the device though they seem to be quite a bit off in this case. I can request more information on how the battery usage stats work. I will let you know as soon as I know more.

I am seeing this problem on my phone too. Anyone has a solution for this? Sony customer support was not very helpful in finding a solution. And they said they didn't have any way to revert to older Sofware without rooting the system.

Hi @ntone, sorry to hear that.

Have you tried your device in safe mode, as was suggested earlier in this topic, to see if there is a noticeable difference when it comes to battery performance then? That would help us determine if this is caused by a downloaded third party app if nothing appears to be out of the ordinary in the battery usage statistics.

None of the apps are causing this issue. If I look at the battery usage it shows the highest usage is with the "Android System".  After I did the Software repair. it removed all the apps and put it to a clean state. Even with that I was seeing this same battery drain.

@ntone Android system includes many different processes so I'm afraid it's hard to say exactly what is causing the high battery usage. It is, however, not unusual that Android system will use more battery after a software update or repair due to many processes optimizing in the background after an update. This should settle down after a few days/charging cycles, though you may also have to reboot your device as well.

Hi @Abody,

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with this process name. ANT can be related to different kinds of wireless fitness trackers though, are you using a device like that together with your phone?
