Software update auto prompt out

I just bought my Z3 plus dual yesterday. After I connected to internet, it automatically did prompt out and ask me to update software & update system. I did not do anything and just ignore and leave it there. The notifications keep still there...cannot remove it....very annoying. Would like to ask for some opinions regarding:
- Is it necessary to update software and system?

- If I don't wanna update, how to remove the notifications and don't prompt out again?
- Any advantage if I update it?
- Any disadvantage if I'm not gonna update? (difference between update and before update)

You can't remove the notification until you update the phone. Updates fix bugs and include security patches.

System upgrade required 1.4gb??!!

Will it consumer the memory space?

Or temporarily only during download?

By the way, your recommendation of updating firmware is it just to update software as the pic i attached?

Or update both software and system?

Appreciate for your kind reply. TQVM!
