inteligent backlight issue

My intelligent backlight switches itself off (and occasionaly back on again if it feels like it) at random. Any ideas?

What model of phone are you using? And by intelligent backlight, do you mean Adaptive Brightness in the settings menu, or is it a third party app?

No checked phone logs and it is the intelligent backlight service (Com.sonymobile.intelligent.backlight version code 1 version name 1.0

tried to restart in my services list but says it unable to start

tried to restart in my services list but says it unable to start. I'm in safe mode now but it can be a while sometimes before it does it...it's random....even when using phone. Screen dims But screen settings and brightness levels are normal, adaptive brightness is off, sbacklight it's not screen off as in sleep just backlight dims. Sleep off anyway to be sure.....and it's just gone off again.........and came back on.with about 3 min interveval

Interval... No difference if smart backlight setting on or off or adaptive brightness on or off.

If it is doing the same thing in safe mode then the next thing I would recommend is running a software repair on your handset.
