Hi,

I have had my M4 Aqua for a week and I am happy with it. However, the camera doesn't focus on any distances longer than a couple of inches. Touch focus doesn't work, and neither does auto focus. I have managed to take one focused picture, and that was an extreme closeup.

I took the phone to my operator today, and the guy there checked that all settings were correct. Still, the camera doesn't focus. Pictures are completely blurred and so is what you see on the screen.

The front facing camera is crisp and clear.

The guy at the operatoräs outlet suggested they take the phone in to check it. But that means that I will be without a phone for some time, which is unacceptable to me. So I would be grateful for any ideas on how to fix this. Could it be a software bug?

I am looking forward to solving this with the help of this forum.

Check if there are scratches and/or if there's something blocking the lens such as dirt, grime, etc. if you don't see anything then you might have to take it to your Local support to get it inspected.

settings > apps > all > camera > clear data > restart the phone

Ulliwolly, thanks for pitching in, I tried your two first suggestions to no avail. I am not sure about the software repair. Will it delete data on my phone?

I will probably let my operator have a look at it, as I think my issue is hardware related. What a bummer, I was so happy with this phone...

It will delete the data but a working phone its better than a non working phone with data

That is true. So you think it may be software related. I will try the repair later today then.

Funnily, the phone focuses ok at very close distances. At distances greater than say 10 centimeters, it just doesn't focus at all. But below that it is fine.
