auto rotate just stopped working ,,,

10 days in to my Z1 compact ownership and the rotation has stopped working ....

I have done the  on off button volume  reset and doesn't help ...

Any one have a clue what's going on ????

Download xperia diagnostics from google play and test the gyroscope and other features related.

The phone has the app built in ,, 

tests all OK 

Doesn't offer gyroscope tests ,,,

Download sony update service and repair,it might be a software issue:

So , I picked the phone up after a few hours and it worked fine ... 

No idea why , just glad it did ....LOL

Hi!

I hade the same problem just now with my Z1 Compact. I followed the guide to start the phone in safe mode and auto-rotate worked fine!

I then powered off and on again and the function worked just fine again. At first I was afraid that the gyroscope was damaged or something but I guess the software controlling it must've crashed or hanged.

Anyway it works fine now, I hope it helps!

Me too, into safe mode and it again. Solved my camera orientation and compass problems simultaneously. Thanks people.
