recently upgrade to 251.

but the touchscreen seem to have change the touch area.

if i scroll with my full finger, it won't register, nothing happen.

i have to minimize the finger contact area in order to scroll, touch icons, buttons, links...

before 251, scroll with my full finger is working.

Some advice please. If I flash per these instructions, will my tablet appear to have been rooted? I had long-running issues once before when I messed with a ROM and Sky Go (UK TV) would not run as it detected the changes. I had to factory reset.

Hi pdes1,

you're just flashing a stock firmware you've gotten directly from SONY. Your device WON'T be rooted.

what is your country? Have you bought the tablet from an operator?

I've written the procedure for a guy in France, therefore it may be different for you.

My region is CE1, but in my case I'm not able to download .24 firmware(it's not on the server for some reason), therefore I'm using Nordics combined as you can see from the screenshot

Ah, that's it then. I am in the UK and my tablet is unbranded (Amazon). Is there a way round this?

pdes1, the only one available (through XperiFirm) for your tablet (SGP771 with LTE ?) seems to be the following one :

1295-4697 United Kingdom Customised UK 28.0.A.8.251 / R15A

(no previous firmware available)

Regarding my touch issues, I have returned my Z4 to my reseller because of these touchscreen issues (I had them finally with any firmware I could put in !), waiting for a new one now....fingers crossed !

Good luck with the replacement. Is seems very hit and miss. Mine is the SGP712. 251 is the issue so I won't load that!. I had read that there was a 253 "out there" but haven't seen it. Guess I will have to wait for Marshmallow. 😞

you can try to download and flash Nordics firmware. Worked in my case, I've also couldn't find old FW for CE1

Just looking through the firmare lists and researching further, it looks as thought the firmware for the Z4 tab is the same as for the Z3 Compact. If this is the case, there are some closer firmware matchs in the Z3 Compact list. Am I safe to use Z3 Compact firmware?
