Deleting previously opened apps and webpages etc....

Sorry if this is a simple question...... the three icons at the bottom on the left. The third one which brings up everything you have opened.... such as camera, facebook, web etc..... how do I clear all of those apps? Tried settlings applications stop and also a task killer..... Not sure if these are running apps though or just a history of some sort?

For the moment, the only way to kill the apps for good is to turn the tablet off; when you'll turn it back on, the apps "history" will be cleared...

It seems (I've read) that ICS will allow us to turn the apps off one by one. ICS should arrive about mid march...
