Having just upgraded my OE system to Sony, Sony, Sony.... I find that I'm deafened when I start the car unless I turn down the stereo before turning it off previously.
What I'd like to be able to do is to set a start-up volume so that I dont have to worry about turning the volume down when I'm done using the car.
Does thia all make sense?
Thansk for your input.
Hi devilfrog,
You don't say which stereo you have, but I can't say I remember any that had this feature unfortunately. That said, most of those with electronic volume controls, do build up to the previous volume level from zero (albeit quite quickly) so at least you have a chance to react and adjust the volume level before it hits the full previous level! The only problem with this is if you are using additional external amplifiers, which can take a moment or two to activate when you first turn on the stereo - and possibly enough time for the volume to have already built up to its previous level!
Sorry not to be of more help...
