My Walkman does not retain track when switched off!!!

Hi, on a previous mp3 player (not a Sony model) if I turned off my player at any time the player would retain the position in the album, audio book etc.

This doesn't always happen with my current player (Walkman NWZ-E464) sometimes the position is kept, but not always.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal for my Walkman, or is there a setting I am missing.

Hi it really depends on the size of the file and how long it has been off, the power save functions are designed to save battery life and a small unit like his would have limited file restrictions for buffering, so large files would not maintain track position
