Debris in headphone socket

Ok so i managed to get a small plastic ball bearing stuck in the headphone socket of my walkman.  My fault, pure accident and I can't get it out.  So I ring Sony and get told to go to my local centre.  I go to my local centre who tell me they don't do walkman.  Thank god they were nice because they rang up Sony again to find out what i should do.  The answer - throw it away and buy a new one.  There is no where to send it, there is nothing they can do about it.  The walkman is fine it just needs opening and the ball bearing flicked out.  But no this isn't possible I should chuck it away.  For anyone who has this problem don't waste your breath with Sony helplines go to a moblie phone repair, unlocking whatever they are shops.  You know the sort, they sometimes do computer repairs too.  Go there 30 mins £5 and you have your walkman back.  It works.  Better than it joining a land refill and me being £100 worst off.
