I've had this PCG-K195HP for about six months now and last night, boredom got the better of me and I took a look inside each of the doors on the back. I found the hard drive, the RAM and... umm... something else. I've worked on countless machines and built several from scratch in the past and I've never seen anything like this. Does anyone know what it is? It's got some coloured tape over it and it's next to the monitor port. If it's possible to upgrade my graphics card, I'd be ecstatic but somehow, I doubt it's that.

Isn't that for wireless cards?
Hmm possibly. I've already got wireless built in so maybe that's it.
You know, maybe I should take it out and see what stops working.:smileywink:
Heh
To save you knackering your computer, if you have inbuilt wireless on your K series, the one behind door 3 IS the MiniPCI wireless LAN card.
I was right
you sure were, you can use other things there aswell as wireless cards tho, basically any miniPCI card
There's not that many around really.
No, i know, but thats because they can make a WLAN chips, so cards are uneccessary, its just another chip on the motherboard! Cant wait for a MiniSD Wlan card for my phone  !
