VGN-S1XP Maximum Memory

Currently my VGN-S1XP has a single 512MB module (Micro DIMM DDR333 PC2700) in a single slot - works OK but want to increase.

I have a spare 1024MB module (cost me £4 on Ebay), so:

Will it work or cause damage if I fit it in place of the current 512MB?

What would happen if I used both together?

Reason for the confusion is that Crucial says both slots must b used to a total maximum of 1GB, but I have seen stores selling single 1GB modules an an upgrade for this machine.

Thanks in anticipation for a bit of clarity. Zebadie1010

The maximum RAM that the Motherboard can use is 1024MB and there is a maximum limit of 512 MB for each memory slot.

I would not recommend trying to use larger or different specification modules.  The best you can do is to buy another PC2700 512MB module for the second slot.
