I am trying to update the BIOS i nmy PCG-N505X as I intend to install Win2000 instead of Win98.
The update files I am using are those provided by Sony Support: Phlash3, Platform and W2K06H0.
The Bios currently on the laptop is R0206H0/RK206H0.
BIOS is set to defaults.
Hardware changes are additional RAM and a Go HDD both recognized by BIOS.
I have tried to udate the Bios from Win98 or from a boot diskette.
In both cases I get this message:
"Phoenix Flash Error"
"Open failed on Bios Rom image file"
