New RAM Memory!:((]

Hello everybody!

I have the Vaio Desktop PCV-RS114 with 256 MB PC2100 (DDR266) SDRAM. Now I bought some upgrade RAM. I bought two times 512 MB PC2100 (DDR266) SDRAM. But after I installed them, my PC shuts down all the time with an fatal memory error. After I switched back to the Original memory the fault was gone. Has anybody an idea, what´s the problem? Is there maybe an BIOS upgrade for this.

I would guess that one of the cards is faulty. Try them one at a time and you should be able to work out which one is causing the problem.

Alternatively, run a memory checker such as Memtest

After iI wrote the text, I checked one by one and it was like you said. One of the RAMs is faulty. But thanks a lot for tip.
