New NS Laptop shows only a black screen. cannot do set up

hi i have just bought a new Vaio Ns series laptop. it showed the vaio logo and said wait 5- 15 mins. i waited an hour and still was a black blank screen. i re tryed the process with no luck any ideas of what is happening??? thankyou

Is the hard disk light showing any activity whilst the screen is blank?

Hi which light is that sorry? At the bottom I have the power on light, the charging light and an orange flicking light next to a cylindrical shape. I linked it to my tv and the screen showed up so it's there just not on my laptop? Any ideas?? Thankyou

not too worry i think i have sussed it. i didnt know that the wireless switch had to be off upon start up.i found this out by an accident so thatnk you for your help and intrest.

Surely that shouldn't affect the display on the unit?

That was also my though, but maybe it has to be off during the very fist start up!?
In any case I would try to start it up with WLAN enabled and see if it works now.
