I just bought the new Vaio V2S, great machine. I use pinnacle instant dvd/cd for writing. The fastest speed i can achieve is 6x. Anybody know how i can achieve the quoted 8x that this machine. I did a search on drivers for the dvd in this machine but can't even find the drive listed anywhere. The drive is a Pioneer DVR-K14L. I can find an OEM DVR-K14 on Pioneer Australia, but does anybody know what the difference is if any. Can anybody shed any light on this or share thier experience of what dvd software works best for them with the V2S.
Many thanks.
You need to have disks rated for 8x writing.
the disks are 8x datawrite. Instant dvd/cd only lets me choose options to write at 1x, 2x, 4x and 6x. There is no 8x option. Even at 6x, writing seems to take longer than my 4x pioneer A06 in another machine i have, but i will need to time them to confirm if that is true.
Maybe it's only a 6x writer
Maybe, but the spec says 8x, as does sony literature etc??? Any ideas where i might actually find info on this drive on the net?
As it's made for Sony specially it's going to be hard.
