How Can DMA be enabled for DVD-RW on Windows XP Pro?

Hi there!

I really don't know how can I enable DMA for my DVDRW in windows XP pro edition. For My DVD I have enabled in windows Device Manager the "DMA if available"., but the DVD writer is still working in PIO mode.
Please help me with this!!!

I think I better download some drivers for the DVD writer but I cannot find them on the whole Internet and sony doesn't have it in the all drivers package. My VAIO is PCG-K215M, and my DVD writer is MATSHITA UJ-820D. There are no drivers for this on the internet!!! I was searching for 1 week and I gave up.

Hi Aaron,

From what I remember DVD drives burn in PIO mode and read in DMA mode.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys.
